States & Federal Territories
Public holidays vary across Malaysia. Select your state or territory for a tailored calendar that combines national holidays with local gazetted days.
Malaysia has two kinds of public holiday: national holidays that apply nationwide, and state holidays that each of the 13 states and 3 federal territories gazette separately. That is why the total number of days off in a year depends on where you live or work.
State-level holidays typically include the birthday of the Sultan or Yang di-Pertua Negeri, along with regional festivals that matter to that state's residents. A day that is a public holiday in one state can be an ordinary working day in another.
