- Singapore has 11 gazetted public holidays in 2028, the same nationwide. They are New Year's Day, Chinese New Year (two days), Good Friday, Hari Raya Puasa, Labour Day, Hari Raya Haji, Vesak Day, National Day, Deepavali and Christmas Day. Singapore does not have state or regional holidays.
- What happens if a Singapore public holiday falls on a Sunday?
- Under the Holidays Act, if a gazetted public holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is a public holiday. For employees whose weekly rest day or off-day falls on the public holiday itself, the next working day is granted in lieu, in line with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) guidelines.
- Are Singapore public holiday dates confirmed in advance?
- The Ministry of Manpower gazettes Singapore's public holidays roughly a year or more ahead. Dates for 2026 and 2027 are official. Dates further out, such as 2028, are estimates based on the lunar and Islamic calendars and are subject to official confirmation, especially Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji, Vesak Day and Deepavali.
